What did you do to black it out Mike? Did you literally disable your blog for the day?
Also were those hits from people click on links to your site or are they suppose to be literal site loads? That could make a difference as well.
wordpress had a wiget to black out your blog, and just provide a statement along thel ines of “Swords & Dorkery opposes censorship” with links to SOPA/PIPA petitions and info.
I think that hits from search engines etc. account for a lot of it…not sure if people could click past the ‘black screen’ or if they could access deeper urls if they had direct links from Google etc.
