Scratchbuilds

This page is just to show off a few figures I scratch-built over the years.

Below is an original Grenadier AD&D roper, and two I scratch built from epoxy putty.

I also made four Fire Giants, very dwarf-like guys with coal black skin and flaming red hair, per the AD&D Monster Manual!

DSC02919These guys are mostly epoxy putty, with some cheap Halloween earrings for swords, and a few odds and ends like the chain and bat wings added.  I think they are supposed to be around 16 feet tall in AD&D, and these guy are about right in scale with my metal figures.

Next, a Trojan horse.   The impatient little dude looking out is part of an Atlantic 1/72 Greek archer.  The base is 60mm wide and80mm long.  Balsa wood, with plastic wheels from a Weapons & Warriors catapult, and string for the tail.  There is a hatch at the horse’s ass; you can sort of see the door knob, I hope the Trojans don’t notice!

A Roman scene, for use as a camp element in DBA.  The clerk at the religious supply store was probably wondering what I needed all those little crucifixes for.  The Romans are Airfix; the kneeling guy was given a hammer.

The wife lets me put this out around Easter, if we aren’t having company. :)
