Happy Woodchuck Day!

True story.

My third year of college at the University of Toledo, I had a dorm room with two other guys, Scott something or other, from northern Ohio, and Radek Popovic, from the Czech Republic.  All kinds of cultural difference hijinks might be expected.  But the most memorable was that Radek convinced Scott that a local delicacy in Toledo was Woodchuck pizza, and that it was being served at the university’s pizza joint, in honor of Groundhog Day (if you asked for it).  Yes, the foreigner sent the local on a freaking snipe hunt.

(Radek was actually very keen to see a real groundhog.  He had learned the “How much wood would a woodchuck chuck” tongue twister in his English classes and assumed a woodchuck was an imaginary animal.  He was delighted to learn we had them around Toledo.)

  1. Hey Mike, it’s me!!! LOL! I remember that. Now that was some lulzy shit! His name was Scott Conforto, BTW, sole owner of the green man hallucination, or maybe it was clairavoyance. I think, perhaps, that his brain was so slow, that when his subconcious went through the spectrum to assign a color to the nefarious entity that plagued his sorry soul, it just stopped at green instead of blue. Had his noggin functioned fully he might be the leader of a 5 star Las Vegas performace group:( [notice how they dont have eyebrows! Coincidence? I think not!]
Anyway Hey! Hope things are going good for you and your family! Would love to talk! Don’t have your email, but you could hit back on mine!

    Take care!
