Burn the witch!

Both Grenadier, and about as different as can be.  The witch with a broom (and a cat familiar, which I believe is a Ral Partha casting) is from a “Creatures of folklore” box, which came with a Frankenstein’s monster, werewolf, hunchback, etc.  The green witch is supposed to be a goblin wizard, from Grenadier’s later Nick Lund line.

  1. I always wished D&D had included a Witch class.

    • The NPC witch presented in an early Dragon (and I think reprinted in one of the Best of Dragon volumes) never impressed me. But then I always thought that if you wanted to play a witch, there are Magic-Users and Druids. M-Us can get classic witch spells like Charm Person, Find Familiar, and Fly, and Druids make pretty good “Wise Woman/Cunning Man” hedge mages, so depending on how you imagine a witch either could work. I can’t remember if AD&D had guidelines for potion creation but 3rd edition did, and a Mage who makes potions could also simulate a witch.

The fairy tale villain witches could be Night Hags or similar.
