I was getting kind of proud that a lot of the search terms people used to find this blog were right on topic: minis, Breughel, a saint with a dog head, poop machine, Black Sabbath…
Then I saw these two: “Icarus porn” and “gnoll porn.” For crying out loud, people.
I… I just can’t even imagine actually searching for either of those…
Well, at least they’ll find something here the next time they search for those two. 🙂
Yes, the idea of a “google penance” is just that, although ideally it would actually be a relevant result. Kind of a reversal of the Project Muse and Plinky ideas. So I guess this post is more of a google punishment, without the Goatse pic.
I’ve never used whatever widget lets you do that on dndwps.
I suppose i should, because it would probably be hilarious.
Yes, I hereby insist you do. Especially if you post something “relevant” as a penance.
I’d really like the Google Penance meme to spread more. I stole the idea from Got Medieval which has done a really great job with it.
Back in March I was playing around with the way the blogs on my blogrolls appeared. Yours was IDed as “Playing D&D with Cornstarch” and I imagine that threw off some of the porn search traffic. No one ever noticed the slightly off blogroll, or commented if they did.
